Every year for two weeks in January Northcote Manor plays host to the best chefs in the world in one of Europes premier gastronomic events. Each chef takes over the Northcote kitchen for the evening and magic happens, this is Obsession. 2016 saw 16 Chefs with 17 Michelin Stars over 16 nights create food heaven in the small town of Langho in Northern England. Now we bring you this event over 400 pages of recipe book.
Obsession 16 was the most diverse Obsession to date, bringing chefs from Europe, Mexico, Taiwan, South Africa, Peru and Japan, all bringing with them a rich and diverse culture and an abundance of talent.
It was this diversity that inspired Nigel to create his latest book that takes a behind-the-scenes look at Obsession 16 — the day to day lives of the star chefs who performed and delivered during the 16 night gastronomy showcase.
The line up of Chef's from around the World included the 2 Michelin Starred Jean-Luc Rocha, 3 Michelin Starred Annie Féolde, the 3 Michelin Starred Hideaki Matsuo and the 2 Michelin Starred Arnaud Bignon have used it to create Mousses, Ice Creams, Sorbets and Cocktails.
The result is 400 pages of some of the most ispiration recipes and food you will ever see. Nigel is delighted with the result, it is a stunning, glossy, beautifully presented book with incredible food photography by Allen Markey, along with images capturing the behind-the-scenes moments. Nigel speaks to them about their restaurants, their style of cooking, and offers the reader over 100 recipes from the menus of Obsession 16 chefs, plus the chef ’s own childhood recipe from their region. But, its not just the journey of Obsession 16, illustrating the menus, the wines, and all the recipes, the book gives you an insight into where these chefs have come from and their own personal journey.
